Contest Rules

How to enter

The contest will run from February 17, 2009, to midnight on November 30, 2009. To enter, choose your three favorite recipes at www.swiss-authentics.com and fill out the entry form (name, email address, telephone number, address, date of birth, and sex). The draw for the trip for two to Switzerland will be held at 11 a.m. on December 1, 2009, in the Gestev offices at 1,000 boulevard Beau-Pré, Suite 7106, Beaupré, Québec G0A 1E0.

Prize

The Grand Prize is a trip for two to Switzerland worth $10,000. The trip must be taken before December 31, 2010, and is subject to the availability of flights.

The prize includes

  • Two (2) return flights in economy class from Montreal to Zurich or Geneva, Switzerland. Both plane tickets must be used at the same time. Use of the tickets is subject to seat availability when the winner makes his or her reservations. The plane tickets may not be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash. Tickets are valid for one year after the draw date, i.e., from December 1, 2009. Swiss International Air Lines reserves the right to modify the validity period if for any reason the designated destination is no longer available on the date of travel.
  • Seven (7) nights’ double occupancy accommodation, breakfasts and four (4) diners at the “ROMANTIK HOTEL SCHWEIZERHOF”.
  • A health treatment
  • An eight-day 1st class travel pass for train, including transit for bus and boat transportation and also admission to over 450 museums for two
  • CDN$1,000 spending money for two
  • Tours of authentic Swiss cheese companies
  • Airport taxes and certain service charges (amount varies according to selected destination)
  • Local airport tax payable upon departure

The prize does not include

  • Insurance
  • Personal expenses
  • Cost of obtaining official travel documents (passports, visas, etc.)

The trip must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash. Travelers are responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents.

Eligibility

The contest is open to all Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entering the contest, excluding employees and representatives of Switzerland Cheese Marketing Inc. Ricardo magazine, the advertising and promotions agency in charge of the contest, the company overseeing the contest, and suppliers of prizes, materials and services related to the contest, as well as the employees of participating establishments and individuals living with the aforementioned persons.

General Terms & Conditions

The prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be transferred or substituted for another prize or redeemed for money.

The winner of the trip will have 30 days after the draw date to claim his or her prize.

By entering the contest, the winners release the contest organizers and individuals who benefit from the contest being held of all liability for any harm that may occur as a result of accepting or using the prize and undertake to sign, if required, a release form to this effect before taking possession of the prize.

By entering the contest, the winners authorize the organizers to use, as required, their name, photograph, place of residence, voice, and/or likeness for advertising purposes without any remuneration whatsoever.

The contest organizers are not liable for any computer, software, or communication failures relating to the loss or absence of a communication network or any defective, incomplete, incomprehensible, or erased transmissions by computer or across any network that may hinder or prevent any person from entering the contest. The contest organizers are not liable for any damage or loss caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by downloading any software or materials or by sending any information in order to enter the contest.

Subject to the approval of Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, the contest organizers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, or suspend this contest in full in the event that a computer virus, computer bug, unauthorized human intervention, or any other occurrence beyond their control corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, impartiality, or normal operation of the contest.

Entering the contest constitutes an acceptance of these contest rules.

This contest is subject to all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal legislation. These rules govern all aspects of the contest and are binding on all entrants.

Any disputes regarding the organization or conduct of a promotional contest may be submitted to Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
